What is Japanese Acupuncture?

Kiiko Matsumoto Acupuncture is a very hands on, systematic, palpation based style of acupuncture, developed to provide instant feedback from the client to practitioner, crosschecking diagnostic indicators with treatment points, so you know the treatment is actually working while you’re on the table!

This style of acupuncture was developed in Japan based on the classical Chinese Medicine texts dating back to the Han Dynasty, and has stayed true in it's theories and practices during a time when "Traditional Chinese Medicine" (TCM) was being reformed and moderated in China during the 40's - 50's.  In essence this style of acupuncture could be believed to be more traditional in its foundations than TCM.

Further to it's traditional roots, Kiiko Style acupuncture also has elements of modern functional medicine. In clinic we assess and treat all systems within the body, from the endocrine system (including the pituitary gland, thyroid and adrenals) to sympathetic / parasympathetic nervous system balance, and so much more!

This style of acupuncture is a highly effective form of treatment, using advanced techniques to identify and treat the root cause of the health disharmony, and repair the functionality of the whole system, not just address the symptoms. This helps to establish and maintain relief from symptoms, promote healing, and support ongoing health and wellness.

Dr Tahnee Burchmann is clinically experienced in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Kiiko Matsumoto Style Japanese Acupuncture. Throughout her clinical practices, she has observed a significantly greater efficacy and longer lasting results with Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture. Please contact Tahnee directly if you have any questions about Japanese Acupuncture and how it may help you!!
